Anti-Termite

WHAT

Termite control is a treatment done by applying termite killing products before constructions and post constructions of homes or buildings. This can be done by soil treatment, corrective treatment or baiting method.

WHY

It provides immediate protection or treatment to any structure from termite attacks. It lasts for several years.

ANTI-TERMITE SERVICES

“Termite” is a social insect that belongs to Order Isoptera. It is also known as a cellulose-eating insect and comprises of more than 2000 diversity species around the world. Termites are categorized into 3 sub-categories includes dry wood termites, damp wood termites and subterranean termites.
“Anti-Termite Treatment” is a chemical treatment to stop the infestation of termites in a property. Different termite’s species require different treatment approach. Other than that, the treatment also differ depends on the premise condition and infestation levels.
Pest Link provide 4 different treatments for termites based on the terms and condition apply:

Soil Treatment (ST)

Soil Treatment is a chemical treatment carried out BEFORE a building structure was built (before construction). This phase usually involves in spraying a chemical barrier on the soil. Therefore, a building was protected by the chemical by the time it was built. Chemical used can be either repellent or non-repellent chemical based on customer needs and requirements.

Corrective Soil Treatment

Corrective Soil Treatment is a chemical treatment carried out AFTER a building structure was built (after construction). This phase involves drilling process and injecting a chemical inside the drill holes. Each hole will be drill up to 1 ft distance surrounding the premise. This process creates a chemical barrier and thus protecting the premise from termite’s infestation.

Termite Baiting System

Our Termite Baiting System is from Exterminex. This baiting consists of Chlorfluazuron as active ingredient (Class IV chemical) that prevent termites from producing new set of skin during molting. The workers termite will feed on the bait and share to the other termites within the colony. The active ingredient will prevent termites from growing and kills them. Exterminex baiting system are classified into two categories as follows:

a) In-Ground Station (IG)

IG station usually will be installed surround the premise/building in the ground. This station consists of IG station and interceptor wood which will be used to lure and monitor termite’s activities. Interceptor wood has high palatability pine wood that favoured by the termites and tested by FRIM.

b) Above Ground Station (AG)

AG station usually will be installed inside/outside premise where the presence of mud tubes is available above the ground. Exterminex bait enclosed together inside the AG station and installed at area which active termites were detected. Follow up of AG station takes place every one/two weeks depending on the termite feeding activity until it reached colony elimination. The process of colony elimination will take place around 4 to 6 weeks.

Termite Mound Removal

Termite Mound Removal will only take place if and only if a termite mound was found outside/outdoor of premises. Mound removal will be carried out manually by shovelling the soil where termite mound was found. This process will be continuously run until a termite nest with king and queen was found. This is to ensure the colony to be eliminated once the king and queen was removed from its nest.
